Hi, I am Polina

I’m a photographic artist and illustrator. Before turning to photography, I have studied Graphic Design and Art History and received PhD in Art History.

During my academic studies, I worked as a junior research fellow and draughtswoman on archaeological excavations in Egypt. While hand-drawing finds, I began photographing my work and surroundings - documenting both my research and my personal journey. This early practice shaped my visual language and deepened my understanding of imagery as a tool for storytelling and reflection.

My love for classical art later led me to fine art photography. Working within fine art photography, I create dreamy, emotionally rich, timeless and introspective images inspired by Renaissance painting.

Based in Vienna and working internationally, I specialize in artistic portrait photography, conceptual fine art, and visual storytelling for clients who value authenticity, mood, and meaning.

My graphic art including live sketching, graphic recording and book illustrations is here.

Why I Do What I Do

I create images to explore identity, femininity, memory, and the subtle emotions we often struggle to put into words. A photograph can hold silence, strength, and beauty all at once. That’s what I’m drawn to - and what I want my clients to feel when they see their images.

I believe fine art photography should slow us down. It should invite us to look closer, feel deeper, and connect - not only with the image, but with ourselves.
